The league’s traditional season opener – the JR Cleator Cup which is played between the league champions and the winners of the League Cup – will be held on Saturday, July 28 at Marske United who will play Dunston UTS.

The league season starts on Saturday, August 4 and the FA Cup will start on Saturday, August 11.

Ashington FC secretary Gav Perry replaces Steve Moralee of Tow Law Town on the League Management Committee.

Next year’s AGM will be on Saturday, June 15 at Guisborough Town.

This year’s AGM was held at Alnwick Castle and the league presented Alnwick Town secretary Cyril Cox (pictured) with the Unsung Hero trophy and a pair of cut glasses for his involvement with the club  for 50 years and for organising the event.

League chairman Glenn Youngman said:  “Cyril has given decades of commitment to Alnwick Town and we thought it fitting that we mark that achievement with a trophy and a gift as a mark of gratitude from the league.”

A charity event at the league’s annual dinner raised £1,000 for the Willow Burn Hospice and the British Heart Foundation.
