FA ANNOUNCE MAKE-UP OF EBAC NORTHERN LEAGUE FOR 2018/19 SEASON

The Football Association today announced the names of the clubs that will be relegated from and promoted to the Ebac Northern League for the 2018/19 season.

Redcar Athletic and Birtley Town are promoted to Division Two from the Wearside League and the Northern Football Alliance respectively.

They have confirmed that Blyth AFC, Hebburn Town and Whickham are promoted to Division One, with Billingham Synthonia and Washington relegated to Division Two.

The moves are subject to appeals by clubs.

The FA has already announced that Marske United and Morpeth Town will be promoted from Division One to the Northern Premier League.

This means that both divisions in the Ebac Northern League will run with 20 teams, in line with the FA re-structuring of non-league football across England.

It’s the first time that Redcar Athletic has played in the Northern League, while Birtley Town return after being relegated in the 2015/16 season.

The FA has said that their initial view is that Alnwick Town should be relegated to the Northern Football Alliance and Darlington RA to the Wearside League or the North Riding League, but this will be decided next week.
