The League Management Committee last night formally accepted Sunderland RCA’s withdrawal of resignation.

The club had provisionally tendered their resignation from the league at the end of the season.

League chairman Glenn Youngman said:  “We’re delighted that RCA will continue next season.

“To lose both Ryhope teams in successive seasons would have been a blow to the area.

“We hope the local community rallies round to help and support RCA in the coming seasons.”
