DATES SET FOR PROMOTION PLAY-OFFS

The League Management Committee has set the dates for the end-of-season promotion play-offs.

The champions of Division One and Division Two are promoted automatically.

The teams in each division that finish in second, third, fourth and fifth enter the play-offs.

The team that finishes second is at home to the fifth-placed team and the third-placed team hosts the team that finishes fourth.

Division Two play-offs:  The first match between the second and fifth-placed teams will be played at 7.45pm on Monday, April 29, with the second match between the third and fourth-placed teams played at 7.45pm on Tuesday, April 30.  The winners will meet on Saturday, May 4, with a 3pm kick off.

Division One play-offs:  The first match between the second and fifth-placed teams will be played at 7.45pm on Wednesday, May 1 and the second between the third and fourth-placed teams at 7.45pm on Thursday, May 2.  The winners will meet on Monday, May 6, with a 3pm kick-off.

For both finals, the team that finished the league season in the higher position hosts the match.  If matches are level after 90 minutes, the tie is decided by a penalty shoot-out.

League chairman Glenn Youngman said: “Play-offs are exciting, nail-biting games.  By holding the games on separate days we’re hoping to encourage more spectators to the matches.”

(The entrance fee for the games will be: Division One: £8/5/2 for adults/over-65s/under-16s and Division Two: £6/4/2.

FA rules stipulate that should a club that has qualified to play at home not be able to host the game at their normal home ground on the scheduled date and kick-off time then the game will be played on the ground of their opponents. Should neither club be able to host the fixture, a venue will be selected at the discretion of the league.)
