Cup Details
Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup
This competition is open to all Clubs competing in the Northern League, and is under the management and control of the Management Committee of the League. All matches in the competition are played under lights on dates arranged by the League Secretary.
In the event of the scores in a match being level at the end of 90 minutes play, the winners will be determined by the taking of penalty kicks.
The winning club will hold the Silver Challenge Cup for the year. Rules for the competition can be found by clicking here.
Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup
This trophy is to perpetuate the memory of the late Ernest Armstrong MP who died in 1997, having been President of the League for fifteen years.
The competition is open to all Clubs competing in the Northern League Second Division, and is under the management and control of the Management Committee of the League. All matches in the competition are played under lights on dates arranged by the League Secretary.

J.R. Cleator Cup
This cup is to perpetuate the memory of the late Jim R. Cleator who died in December 1980. He had given sixty years continuous and active association with the League as a player and official with South Bank, League Management Member, Chairman and finally President of the League.
The match is played between the League Champions and the League Cup winners, or if both trophies have been won by the same club, between the League Champions and the League Runners-up, on the ground of the League Champions.
The match is played in the fourteen days, either Saturday or mid-week, prior to the second Saturday of the season on which League matches are played.
In the event of the scores in a match being level at the end of 90 minutes play, the tie will be decided by the taking of penalty kicks.

Craven Cup
The Craven Cup, instituted in 1989-90, was previously contested between South Bank, (founder member of the League), and the League champions. However, with South Bank’s demise from the Northern League, this cup became the second division mid-week knockout competition in 1994-95. The Craven Cup competition was renamed in season 2006-07 to the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup.
Ernest Armstrong Memorial Trophy
This was an annual competition contested every season in the two weeks prior to the start of the League playing season. The trophy is in memory of the late League president and former Stanley United player, Ernest Armstrong MP, who died in 1997. The original clubs involved were: Crook Town, Stanley United, Tow Law Town and Willington. Consett replaced Stanley United in season 2004-05.
