JR Cleator Cup

Following the cancellation of Saturday’s JR Cleator Cup due to Marske United being unable to field a team of registered players, the league has accepted an offer from Shildon to fill the breach.

Consequently, the match, which will be between Dunston UTS and Shildon, will now take place at Dunston’s ground on Tuesday, July 31 at 7.30 pm.

A league spokesman said:  “We’re very grateful to both Dunston UTS and Shildon for agreeing to hold the final at such short notice.”

Shildon offered to be considered for the game after they finished third in the first division last season and are therefore the highest placed team still in the league following the promotion of both Marske and Morpeth.
